My sister wanted me to make a baby blanket for one of her expecting friends. The theme of the nursery is Rock 'N' Roll! The mother decorated the nursery in electric guitar cut outs, bedding, etc. in the colors red, black and white. I thought I could make a blanket in the colors of the nursery but had a cooler ideal to cut out rock 'n roll images in black felt and sew them on the blanket. I used the 9-Patch Baby Throw pattern from Lion Brand, using the colors red and white. I Google searched clip art images of a star, electric guitar and music notes which I printed onto card stock paper. I then used white chalk to trace the images onto the black felt squares to cut out and sew onto the blanket. Here is the finished product!

Cup Cozy
My sister was in town visiting me last weekend and she wanted a cup cozy for her Starbucks, so I whipped her up one before dropping her off at the airport to catch her flight back home. I found an awesome quick pattern on Ravelry. My sister loved her cozy so much that we had to make a Starbucks stop before heading to the airport. She also put in an order to give as gifts to her team at work! What a great gift ideal!

Beanie Hat with Earflaps
I have been working up the cutest hats lately for a few friends with little girls. I love customizing designs to match personalities. A friend has two girls. She described one as a bit of a wild child that loves lots of bold colors and the other one being more dainty who likes lighter colors. So this is what I came up and both girls love their hats!

Are You Ready For Some Football?!?
Fall is rapidly approaching and I am starting to get busy with orders for hats, scarves and mittens! I had a special request from a family member of mine who is a big Steelers fan (as so am I), that wanted me to crochet a beanie with visor cap for her Godson in the Steeler team colors with a football applique attached to the side of cap. I had never worked up an applique before, although I have seen a great deal of these embellishments on hats, blankets, etc. I finally got a chance to give it a try! The football applique pattern I used came from Creativeladys Crochet Blog. Here is the finished product!

POST UPDATE - Newsboy Cap
Handsome Baby Quinn has debut the wearing of his Newsboy Cap that I made for him back in May. Mom had to let Baby Quinn get strong and big first before he could take this adorable photo in his Newsboy Cap, as he spent a few weeks in the hospital before going home. He is ready for the Fall with many more uses to come in sporting his Newsboy Cap! Thanks Mom for sharing this cute photo of Baby Quinn with me!

Baby! Baby! Baby OOOHH!!
The orders have been flowing in for baby items. Whether as gifts for a baby shower or simply preparing for the arrival of a new bundle of joy. I had a blast over the past weekend crocheting my first pair of baby booties for a customer, baby Allie Nicole! I created two different styles with matching hats, one for the hospital stay and another for take home in style. They are just too adorable! If interested in placing an order, check out my shop where I have these two items listed for purchase.

Baby Cocoon - Photo Prop
I just love looking at pictures of newborn photo sessions posted online from various photographers to get a few crochet ideals. I have been admiring these cute baby cocoons for sometime. I finally got a chance to work one up and it will get put to good use with the new addition of a baby girl cousin Allie Nicole Lockwood, who will make her grand appearance in November. I was so excited to get the news and the crochet wheels started churning thinking of all the things I wanted to crochet for her. With a newborn photo shoot in mind that she will soon take, I wanted mom-to-be to have a baby cocoon photo prop to use during the photo session. I can't wait to see the photos of baby Allie swaddled up in her very own baby cocoon.
